Katie & Vic- Engaged

I got a phone call from my sister, Angelle, claiming she got yet ANOTHER dog, in addition to her three crazy dogs!  Since I live in Florida, and she (and the rest of my family) live in New Orleans, she begged me to FaceTime with her, so I could meet her newest addition.  Never having done FaceTime, and looking like a complete hot mess, I reluctantly agreed to do it.  I called her, shuddering at the view of my makeup-less face.  To my surprise, BOTH of my sisters popped up on the screen when she answered her phone.  Katie, my other sister appeared smiling, bubbly, but I never thought anything of it because she is ALWAYS very bubbly!  So I ask, “Where’s the dog?”  Katie starts barking & holding up her hand by her face.  I stand there for a moment wondering… Okaaay… Where’s the dog & why is Katie barking??   And then it hit me.  Katie has a ring on her finger… SHE HAS A RING.. SHE’S ENGAGED!!!!!!  I can’t even tell you, as soon as it clicked, I covered my mouth and started crying.   I criiiied!!  My baby sister!!  ENGAGED!!  They turned the camera to Vic smiling & waving.  I told him, in my sobbing, that I knew it was going to be him since the first time I met him.  I’ve never met someone so perfect for my sister.
They met when Katie started working as a waitress at a restaurant called Zea’s.  In fact, he was one of her bosses.  They were giving each other the “googly eyes” for a while.  One night, he walked my sister to her car, which is usually the night guard’s job.  Vic walked over, held up his hand and said “I got this.”  GAHHH So cute!!  I can imagine the butterflies in Katie’s stomach.   Now knowing Vic, I can imagine how nervous he was asking her out.  They started dating, but had to keep it a secret since he was her boss.  When they knew this was something special, Katie quit her job so they could be together.
I know I can speak for all of my family, including my late father, and say that we LOVE Vic!!  And we are so thrilled for both Katie & Vic that they will be spending forever together.
I won’t be shooting their wedding.  I’m not even bringing my camera.  I knew even before she was engaged that I wanted to enjoy the day with my own eyes.. Not from behind the camera.  This day will be so special.  I will cry.  I will laugh.  I will dance.  I simply cannot wait.  April 13th!!
