R.I.P. Meow

I have such a soft spot for animals.  I have a dog, Jazz & my cat is named Doo.  Don’t hate me when I say they are my kids.  I spend literally all day with them while my husband is at work.  I’m with them more than my husband!  I don’t know what I would do if something happened to them.  Which is why I was completely heartbroken to hear that one of my former couples’ kitty was diagnosed with a rare & deadly disease called FIP, Feline Infectious Peritonitis.  http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/cat-care/feline-infectious-peritonitis
It was so hard to see this couple try to live with the news that their family member had only a few weeks to live.  I wanted to do something, but there’s only so much someone can do.  And I thought if it were me, I would want to have pictures of me, my husband & my pet.  It’s something we really don’t have because one of us is always taking the picture, and it’s usually with a cell phone.  So I asked Tiffany if she would like to have a little session of the three of them, and I was so happy she said yes.
It was a difficult thing to photograph because I wanted to be respectful.  There was a lot of emotion, and the mood was constantly changing from sad to solemn to happy & playful.  Tiffany & Michael completely spoiled sweet Meow, and showered her with treats & love.  At that point, she was still walking around and getting around pretty well, although she moved slower than other young cats her age.  She would do this adorable thing with her favorite blanket, kneading and suckling, like she was getting milk from it.  When they would lift her from the blanket, her tongue would stay out for an extended amount of time, until they let her continue her business with the blanket.
It was a great honor to have taken Meow’s pictures.  She had a short life, but it was filled with so much love & affection, and she was the sweetest, most precious kitty.  <3
