It’s not something that I like to really make public. But yes, I’ve missed two weddings since I started my business. One was to attend my father’s funeral in another state, and this past one was because I suddenly needed to have emergency gall bladder surgery. As awful as that was, what was way more awful was that I had a wedding that day. I felt so horrible! From my hospital bed, I was able secure a fabulous backup photographer, last minute. (Thanks again to Stacy Paul Photography) I was so grateful that I could leave my bride and groom in the hands of someone so amazing. But I still felt horrible that I couldn’t be there. So naturally, I had to at least attempt to make it up to them. It was my complete pleasure to gift this session to Karlen and Jason. It was the least I could do. It was my first time meeting Jason, and I don’t know what I was expecting. But the way he treated and cared for Karlen really took me by surprise. Almost like she was porcelain and he wanted to protect her. I just wanted to melt!! They were beautiful and happy, even though the mosquitoes ate us alive. Who knew they would be so bad in mid-November?? But besides the mosquitoes, Karlen and Jason were precious and perfect, and I absolutely loved working with them!
This was the part where I really just melted. He cradled her face, and just started lightly kissing her all over her forehead, nose, cheeks, lips… It was the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen.
HEART. MELTED.
