This wedding was beyond perfect from beginning to end. A beautiful venue goes a long way, ya know. And that’s precisely what the Powel Crosley Estate in Sarasota is. A GORGEOUS venue. I’m going to go all out and say this is my top venue I’ve ever shot at. Yeah, it’s that good. But the gloriousness of this wedding doesn’t stop there. With the amazing talent of Burkle Events, this wedding had details EVERYWHERE! Every where your eyes looked, there was something pretty, something creative, and something you wanted to take home so you can use it in your own house. So we got the perfect venue & amazing details. Wouldn’t it be a let down if this couple was a total bummer? That, they are NOT! Steph & Jason have to be among the top most hilarious, laid back and gorgeous couples I’ve had the pleasure of shooting.
I know Steph & Jason through Steph’s sister, Erica. My husband is great friends with Erica’s husband, Dave, through work and he was even one of our groomsmen when we got married. I adore Erica & Dave so much, I jumped at the opportunity to take their pre-ceremony pictures when they got married on a cruise last year. Bryan and I kind have got to know her whole family through the Wildflower Cafe, where all of them have worked at one point or another. (Btw, you have to go to their Sunday brunch. Clearwater. Go.) But the whole family is just sweet as could be. I met Jason and immediately I thought he looked like Breckin Meyer, and he had the personality to match. When I got word that they have gotten engaged, I kept my fingers crossed and told Erica to put in a good word for me. I knew they were right up my alley. My perfect couple.
Aside from the details, their wedding was filled with so many laughs, a few tears, and a lot of dancing. They were so go with the flow, and it really made the whole day so much fun.
I hope you enjoy this wedding as much as I did.
As a joke, one of the bridesmaids gave me a toy lizard and told me to put it in random pictures. Steph has a huge fear over these cute little guys. :)
Jason mentioned that this room may give him the creeps. Maybe it’s the faces on the wall, or that it’s a round room made out of wood. But it’s definitely the coolest room in the estate, so he managed to suck it up, and this is where we did the first look. Thanks Jason!!The first look was shot by myself, and my fantastic second shooter, Bara. These are our different points of view.Loving Bara for capturing this “sweet” moment during the ceremony. When I saw this picture, I cracked up laughing. I have no idea why they are making these faces, or even if they meant to make these faces. But they are the best faces EVER!Jason’s mother was present in spirit, and represented in a locket on Steph’s bouquet. Steph & Jason aren’t real big cake people. They are big PIE people. So when planning their wedding, they figured WHY NOT PIE!? And only the cutest, most creative menu board I’ve ever seen.I <3 Steph’s face to the right.Hellooo gorgeous get-away car. While gathering people up for the send off, everyone making their way out of the building got a special greeting.
I couldn’t be happier for Steph & Jason. They are both super amazing people, and I know their marriage is going to ROCK!
Special thanks to my second shooter Bara & my third shooter Erica. You two killed it this wedding, and was (as always) such a pleasure to work with you both! Thanks for all that y’all do, this wedding and every wedding. I couldn’t do what I do without y’all.
Burkle Events, y’all are just so incredible & creative. Thanks for helping make this such an exciting time! I look forward to working with y’all again in the future!
