I met Carolina & Nick a few months back on one of my husband’s company trips. While I didn’t get to know them very well, I remember Carolina was absolutely stunning and Nick was the funny guy making everyone laugh. They were the cutest and sweetest couple on the trip. Fast forward a few months, and they contact me because they’re getting married! I was super excited to meet up with them again, praying that they actually like what I do, because I really wanted to be their photographer! We met up at my favorite restaurant, Ciccio’s and Carolina & I are both obsessed with the same dish, and get it every single time. Well, the hot & crunchy tuna bowl IS the best thing EVER, so naturally we’d both love it. As we talked over our delicious meals, we got to know each other better, and I knew we’d be a great match. I mean, I love to photograph sweet, adorable couples. And he just adores her soooo much, and he makes her laugh, and she has the best smile.. So yes. I couldn’t wait to work with them.
We went to Safety Harbor Resort & Spa for their engagement session, which is where they are getting married too! I told them the story about how Bryan proposed to me there on the balcony of our hotel room, and tried to remember which balcony it was. The resort holds a special place for me, as well as it does for them, so I was happy to photograph them in a special place.
The sun wasn’t shining and there was a storm in the distance, but it was perfect because we got some really pretty photos from the dark blue sky. And the rain never made it our way, so it was even better.
When we started, I went into my little instructions to just have fun with it & to make her laugh. She immediately said, “OH no problem there! He makes me laugh all the time!” PERFECT!! And he did!! I love her smile. And it made my job not only easy but so much fun. I loved photographing them!
(Thanks to Denise Elaine for the incredible hair and makeup! Told you Carolina was gorgeous!)
