So I haven’t officially “announced” that I’ve packed up my things, moved out of hot, sunny FL & into the mountains of upstate South Carolina. Greenville, South Carolina, to be exact. I guess I should have done that a few months ago, but here it is. And this engagement session was my very first session that I’ve shot here. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this & work in the mountains. This is why we wanted to move here, after all. It’s BEAUTIFUL.
I met Jenna & James at the hotel where they are having their reception. Hotel Domestique. And let me just tell you, holy cow, it’s gorgeous. Gorgeous doesn’t even begin to describe the beauty of this hotel. I am so excited to shoot their reception here. Thrilled!
So that was my first impression when I walked up and inside this magnificent place. Then I got to meet Jenna & James, and totally fell in love with them, too. All smiles and good times, and also very gorgeous, btw. Both of their moms were there, and it was so nice getting to meet them. Jenna, James and mothers were all up visiting because they actually live in Florida! So funny, I just moved from there. So I already felt like we had a lot in common. And man, they picked the most perfect place to get married. I wish I considered having a destination wedding in the mountains!
I loved photographing them so much. They kept cracking me up, and each other up, and it was basically like I was with old friends. At the end of the session, I drove away completely happy and satisfied. I took a deep breath and realized, this is my life now. Photographing people exactly where I want to be photographing. It doesn’t get any better than this.
