Downtown St Pete Photographer Meetup

I love the photography community here.  For the most part, everyone is super friendly and helpful to their fellow photographers.  Yes, we’re competition, but we’re not competitive.  My closest friends are my competition, and that’s not because of the whole “keep your enemies closer” thing.  I really, truly love this community.  I’ve been facebook friends with these particular photographers for forever, and have tried to meet up every now and then, but you know.. life.  So I was so happy when Kera from Kera Photography wanted me to shoot her headshots for her new website coming next week, and wanted to do a trade.  Through the magic of facebook, I already knew that Kera is a stunning girl, and I feel super awkward on the other side of the camera.  I didn’t want to give her a harder job than she was giving me.  So I decided to make a group thing out of it.  I was so excited to see that Kim from Kimberly Yau Studios and Jacob from Jacob M Pierce Photography wanted to come too.  I’ve really been wanting to hang out with these guys!  We had sooo much fun goofing off, trying to not be awkward and see what it’s like for our clients to have the camera in their face.  Kera, Kim and Jacob were all super photogenic and amazing.  I usually hate pictures of myself.. like, every single one.  But they totally made me look good.  I’ll post those when I get them.  But for now, here are mine of them.  They were incredible models!

This girl danced in her tutu like she does this every day.  And she looked fantastic doing it. I got a ukuele for my birthday and I brought it along because I wanted some pictures of it.  I just had to get some pictures of Kim holding it because she totally looks like a Hawaiian goddess.
