Words couldn’t describe my excitement for my very first destination wedding. Bara (my fabulous 2nd shooter) & I were in Puerto Rico & it was the first time for BOTH of us! Living the dream & having the best time! As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with the most amazing, warm smiles & hugs. We were so touched by how NICE everybody was! We instantly fell in love with Alexa & Omar’s family & friends, and didn’t at all feel like we were outsiders, or even wedding vendors for that matter. We felt like family.
The wedding took place at this adorable “hacienda” in San Sebastian, Hacienda El Jibarito. The rooms were real rustic & you really felt like you were in the rainforest, because we were! Every moment, we just wanted to take it all in. We’re in PUERTO RICO!
The day of the wedding was so much fun, just as I knew it would be. So many amazing family and friends all there to celebrate the special bond between two amazing people. How could it not be great? It did rain a few times throughout the day, but that’s to be expected, right? It’s the rainforest, afterall. So due to the rain & the time crunches, we weren’t able to get as many pictures of the two of them as we usually do. BUT we didn’t worry because we knew the exciting Rock the Dress session that was in store for us the very next day. As you many know, I already finished that session, and it is blogged right underneath this one. So check it out when you are finished viewing this wedding. By far, my favorite shoot ever. It really was a dream come true. This whole trip was a dream come true!! I loved every single thing about it. The couple, the decor, the venue, the guests, and most importantly the LOVE between Alexa & Omar.
On the way back to the venue from the salon, we stopped at a fruit stand to pick up some of these delicious little guys. I forgot what they’re called, and apparently you can’t get them here? They were SO GOOD, and so excited I got to try something new!
Also, on the long drive back, this sweet bridesmaid fell asleep on Bara’s shoulder. You know we had to take a picture of that. Btw, this girl is super smart, y’all. Mega genius.
These bracelets represent their exact coordinates where they got married. Such a great idea!
The picture to the left: probably my favorite candid capture of the day.
This candid moment is also one of my favorites. This is when it started getting “real” for Alexa.
It was about to rain right before the ceremony. But that blue/gray sky was way too pretty not to take advantage of.
It was raining, so everybody, bridal party and all, were crammed in the gazebo before the ceremony started.
This bored flowergirl.
As I have shared before, this shot right here is one of the many reasons why I strongly recommend having a 2nd shooter at your wedding. Perfection.
I don’t know if I can take credit for this, but Alexa’s dad smiled for some pictures. He’s one of the nicest people I’ve ever met, but he does not like to smile for pictures. Maybe he just cracked under pressure. I think he has a great smile. :)
