The Ranieri family has a special place in me & my husband’s hearts. For those who don’t know, my husband, Bryan has received two kidney transplants from our friends and heroines, Sandy & Sam. Through the nationwide transplant community, Bryan met Melissa, who just so happened to be 45 minutes from us. Melissa & her family have a sweet, special story. Melissa delivered her son Evan, knowing he would need a transplant. Through many tests, dialysis treatments, prayers and time, Melissa was able to donate one of her kidneys to her son. What a special gift! She has been a HUGE advocate in the organ donation world. It’s a cause that is near and dear, not only to her heart but her entire family who stood by her and Evan’s side, enduring every step with them. When we finally got to meet them in person, we just fell in love with them. Evan and his big sister Avery are the sweetest, most adorable kids. Shy for a split second, and then wanting to show you all of their toys, and talk to you all about school and their hobbies. Melissa and her husband Paul are just as sweet, and Bryan and I felt like we’ve been friends with them for years. It was so nice having such a special bond with them. And it was such an absolute honor to do this shoot for them. Bryan and I adore them with our whole hearts. I pray that God continues to bless this family, and keep all of them in great health for a very, very long time.
